1873 Patek Philippe for Tiffany & Co. Antique Mens Midsize 38mm Hunter Case Pocket Watch - 18K Gold

Patek Philippe

Item No. 5892

The beautiful and important pocket watch showcased in today's offering is a fine example of one of Patek's early stem wound and stem set watches. Specially made for Tiffany & Co., it exhibits the prestigious makers name throughout the case.

It features a Patek caliber with wolf's tooth gearing and Adrien Philippe's patented one-way winding system. It is fully original and signed and in beautiful condition.

It appears to have spent much of life either used carefully or stored away with an appreciation for its value.

Far from a plain Patek, both the case and dial are finely decorated. The elegant engine turned case has ornate scroll and geometric design along the band and edges of the lids. The centerpiece of the watch is its two-striking dial with regal looking center.

Its dial is in mint original condition; its case is near mint plus; and its movement, which is in very fine condition, is running true. Our watchmaker has freshly cleaned and oiled it.

The cuvette shows an inscription that it was gifted on Christmas Day, 1873.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

Please inquire if you would like a Patek extract for the watch.

Patek Philippe:
Patek Philippe is the finest watch manufacturer in the world and holds world records for the most expensive watches in the world.

During the 1860's and '70's, Patek Philippe produced only fewer than approximately twenty watches per day (contrast this with Omega and other fine watch manufacturers that produced hundreds of pieces per day) making original examples very rare and collectable.
