1910's Rolex Vintage Antique Mens Demi-Hunter Case Pocket Watch, 50mm - 10K Gold Filled

Rolex

Item No. 9537

Today's offering showcases this uncommon and pleasing early Rolex pocket watch made c. the later 1910's.

By the 1920's, Rolex had shifted the majority of its production to wristwatches however they continued to make a relatively small number of traditional pocket watches. The desirable demi-hunter cased watch featured in this auction is a fine example of one of Rolex's pocket watches from the era.

We are pleased to offer it. It features a full size 10K gold filled case made for Rolex, the company's contractor for watches destined for the English market. Its "demi-hunter" lid has blue enamel Roman and minute track markings and a crystal covering the center so that the time can be read without lifting the front lid.

Born before the days of constant brand focused marketing, these very early pieces are often not outwardly signed Rolex - they are only signed on the movement.

The marvelous Rolex movement in the watch is quite fine and features a special "moustache" counterpoise snail cam regulator most often associated with Patek's Chronometro Gondolo watches.

It remains in all original condition.

Its case presents as better than near mint with light wear. Its dial presents just short of mint. Its bow is nice and tight. And its high grade movement is clean and decorated.

One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with genuine Rolex parts, polishing the pivots, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and timing testing and regulation (a $795 value).

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
