1920's Tiffany & Co. Ladies Art Deco Vintage Watch - 18K Gold

Tiffany & Co.

Item No. 8937

Like today, in the 1920's, no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co.

One of their special offerings to their most discriminating female clients was a line of jeweled watches emblazoned with the Tiffany & Co. name on the dial.

Although the maker's name was often hidden, the retailer contracted with a number of the world's fine watch and jewelry making firms to produce these treasured timepieces.

Today's offering showcases this incredibly charming 18K gold Tiffany & Co. watch made by the fine Swiss firm E. Huguenin for the prestigious retailer.

While not a household name in this era, Huguenin was a very fine manufacturer at the time this watch was built. The movement, which is adjusted to three positions, is on par with the quality of IWC and other high-grade manufacturers from the era.

We were so fortunate to obtain it with all of its original parts down to the dial, hands, and even its ornate winding crown and in beautiful all original condition.

Its shapely tonneau case is finely decorated. It is in beautiful condition, appearing to have been worn carefully in appreciation of its quality and value. It has never been polished, retaining extremely strong details and lines. A light polish would make it present as just short of mint.

Its gold Tiffany & Co. dial with Art Deco numerals shows only mild aging - quite remarkable for a century old watch. It is well-complemented by the wonderful original "Breguet" moon hands.

One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consisted of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a correct new mainspring to power the watch strongly for years to come, reassembling and lubricating the movement, restudding the hairspring, polishing one of the balance staff pivots, re-balanced the balance wheel wheels, and extensive testing and hand regulation and timing (an $795 value). Photos of the inside available upon request.

We have also tested it on a machine that spins it in all directions simulating it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping very accurate time.

For the finishing touch, we have fitted it with new leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

If you are looking for a special treasure for someone in your life, this is it. Modern Tiffany watches don't match the charm and romance of this vintage original.
