1930's J.E. Caldwell Cresarrow Vintage Art Deco Ladies Watch - 14K Gold & Blue Enamel

Cartier

Item No. 8426

Today's offering showcases this stunning all-original Art Deco ladies vintage Cresarrow watch. It has an ornately engraved Art Deco case with blue guilloche enamel complemented by white enamel.

Cresarrow of New York was one of the premier American luxury watchmakers/jewelers in the first several decades of the twentieth century. Founded by Henry Blank in the late nineteenth century, Cresarrow mainly contracted with the esteemed likes of Patek Philippe, Vacheron & Constantin, IWC and others to build superior quality wristwatch cases for their U.S. market watches, but they also supplied complete movements or complete watches to Tiffany & Co., Cartier, J.E. Caldwell, and other of the finest American jewelers.

Evidence suggests the company contracted C.H. Meylan, a high grade Swiss niche manufacturer, and IWC Schaffhausen to produce some of these movements because the American firm had no manufacturing capacity of its own. J.E. Caldwell was Philadelphia's premier retailer at the turn of the last century.

This J.E. Caldwell watch with movement by Cresarrow exudes quality. Its very high-grade 17 jewel movement is adjusted to three positions.

It is all original down to the dial, hands, and beautiful ornate winding crown and is in gorgeous condition! Its case presents as just short of perfect mint with nothing beyond a couple of microscopic blemishes in the enamel visible under magnification.

Its wonderful pearled silver dial with Breguet numerals is original and untouched, just short of mint.

One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn movement components with genuine replacements, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing, testing and regulation (a $595 value).

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
