In the 1940's, no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co. One of their special offerings to their most discriminating female clients was a line of jeweled watches emblazoned with the Tiffany & Co. name on the dial.
Although the maker's name were always hidden, the retailer contracted with a number of the world's fine watch and jewelry making firms to produce these treasured timepieces.
Today's offering showcases this stunning solid gold Tiffany & Co. mechanical watch made by Concord for the prestigious retailer. The case and matching original bracelet share a fantastic angular geometric shape.
Before cost-cutting measures brought about the widespread use of quartz movements for certain wristwatches, Tiffany utilized Swiss-crafted mechanical movements. Using centuries old watchmaking practices, craftsmen poured individual attention into each wristwatch.
We were fortunate to obtain it in all original condition down to the dial, hands, winding crown, original 14K gold bracelet, and even the crystal.
Its original 14K gold case is in just short of mint with fairly light signs of previous polishing and only the slightest remnants of wear.
Its silver Tiffany & Co. dial is original and untouched, in excellent condition with only light aging. It could expertly restored if you prefer the look of a restored watch...please inquire. And its very fine, Concord movement is clean.
One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $595 value).
We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping very accurate time.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
If you are looking for a special treasure for someone in your life, this is it. Modern Tiffany watches don't match the charm and romance of this vintage original.
