1940's Tiffany & Co. Ladies Vintage Watch - 14K Gold with Diamonds & Rubies

Tiffany & Co.

Item No. 5785

In the 1940's, no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co. One of their special offerings to their most discriminating female clients was a line of jewelled watches emblazoned with the Tiffany & Co. name on the dial. Although the maker's name were always hidden, the retailer contracted with a number of the world's fine watch and jewelry making firms to produce these treasured timepieces.

One such firm was Cresarrow of New York, one of the best case manufacturers of the day. Founded by Henry Blank in the late nineteenth century, Cresarrow contracted with Patek Philippe, Vacheron & Constantin, and Tiffany & Co. and other firms to build some of their wristwatch cases for the U.S. market.

Cresarrow also supplied movements for Tiffany's watches, as is the case with this special watch. Evidence suggests the company worked in collaboration with C.H. Meylan, a high grade niche manufacturer, and IWC Schaffhausen for production of their movements.

Today's offering showcases this beautiful gold, diamond, and ruby Tiffany & Co. watch made by Cresarrow.

It was done in a very traditional/popular Cresarrow for Tiffany style with large spherical lugs and finds and snake mesh bracelet.

It presents in very pleasing condition. Its 14k rose gold case is in better than near mint condition. The large sides are tall for the style, giving it a more pronounced look on the wrist. Its silver Tiffany & Co. dial has been previously well restored. Ands it very fine, Cresarrow movement made for Tiffany & Co. is clean and keeping time.

Our Master Watchmaker has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with genuine originals, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $570 value).

Accopmanying it is an independent appraisal from a GIA certified appraiser that lists its retail replacement value for insurance purposes at $8,000.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

If you are looking for a special treasure for someone in your life, this is it. Modern Tiffany watches don't match the charm and romance of this vintage original.
