1940's Tiffany & Co. Ladies Vintage Watch - 14K Gold with Diamonds & Rubies

Tiffany & Co.

Item No. 8521SH

In the 1940's, no name better captured the idea of embracing the best life had to offer than that of Tiffany & Co. One of their special offerings to their most discriminating female clients was a line of jeweled watches emblazoned with the Tiffany & Co. name on the dial. Although the maker's names were often hidden, the retailer contracted with a number of the world's fine watch and jewelry making firms to produce these treasured timepieces.

Today's offering showcases this beautiful rose gold, diamond, and ruby Tiffany & Co. watch made by Movado for the prestigious retailer.

While Movado has moved downmarket in the last several decades, during Movado's glorious period from 1912 through the 1950's, when such innovations as the polyplan movement, Calendomatic, and exceptional in-house chronographs pushed the envelope of horological technology, and original designs such as the Museum watch took their place in history, their wristwatches enjoyed a level of prestige reserved only for works of the very fine watchmakers.

We were fortunate to acquire it with all of its original parts.

It was done in a very traditional/popular Tiffany style with top hat diamond and ruby motif. We recently sold a very similar example of this model that was accompanied by an independent appraisal from a GIA certified appraiser that listed its retail replacement value for insurance purposes at $8,000. Please inquire if you would like to see it.

Its diamond and ruby bejewelled 14K gold case is in excellent condition. Its silver Tiffany & Co. dial is clean and and has a very lightly warmed tone giving it a true vintage look. It is either original or an exceptional refinishing done in vintage times. Its very fine Movado movement is clean and keeping time.

One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and fully serviced it including installing a new mainspring. For the finishing touch we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

If you are looking for a special treasure for someone in your life, this is it. Modern Tiffany watches don't match the charm and romance of this vintage original.
