1940's Ulysse Nardin Vintage Chronometer Large Mens Calatrava Watch - Stainless Steel

Ulysse Nardin

Item No. 6933

Today's offering showcases this classic and very elegant mens Ulysse Nardin chronometer watch. Its features a wonderful Calatrava lugs, one of our favourite case designs from the era.

We love its handsome case and Explorer style dial with Arabic numerals at the primary markers. This style could pass as a Patek - that was our first thought when we saw the watch.

At just over 35mm in diameter it is full size for the era, and its large dial gives it the presence of a 36mm or 37mm watch on the wrist.

It is fully Ulysse Nardin down to the signed crown and presents in true expertly restored cosmetic condition.

Its steel case presents as mint. Its clean white dial has been meticulously restored - its printing could pass as UN factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration its fine chronometer movement has been freshly overhauled by a Master Watchmaker and timed in five chronometer positions - it continues to keep accurate time.

For the finishing touch it has been equipped it with a brand new calfskin leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

Ulysse Nardin:
Ulysse Nardin is best known for creating chronometers, extremely accurate time keeping instruments often used by ship's captains to plot and follow the correct course while at sea. By employing sextants and chronometers, a captain could track the changes in his course over time and determine the exact location of his ship and Nardin's marine chronometers were among the most reliable and sought after.
