1942 Patek Philippe "Tegolino" Vintage Mens Rectangular 18K Gold Watch - Papers

Patek Philippe

Item No. 10299SH

We are proud to offer the timelessly classic Patek Philippe wristwatch showcased in today's offering. It features an elegant curved case and silver dial with gold accents.

It is often referred to as the "Tegolino", thanks to its resemblance to a famous Italian rectangular cake. It is a vintage Patek that embodies class. It's thin, slides nicely under a shirt cuff, and doesn't draw a lot of attention to itself.

Patek produced this watch from the mid 1930's until the late '50's. The cases for the 425 were made by Markowsky and are slightly curved so to be comfortable on the wrist of the wearer.

It is powered by one of Patek Philippe's illustrious 9'90 movements, so well designed Patek that used it for more than 40 years. The 9'90 Patek Philippe movement is a tonneau shaped movement introduced in 1934 was fitted into many famous Patek Philippe watches such as the "Banana" (ref. 2442), the "Eiffel Tower " (ref. 2441), and the "Tegolino".

It has original parts down to all hands and the winding crown.

Its 18K gold case has not been recently polished and everything except the back shows very little signs of ever being polished. It has one ding on the top between the lugs. It retains two very crisp hallmarks. Please inquire if you would like a light polishing done.

Its silver dial was nicely restored in vintage times. It shows only fairly light aging and retains its original raised enamel printing - please inquire if you would like it expertly freshly restored of if you would like the markers polished.

One of our Master Watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it and installed a new old stock mineral glass crystal. Its extremely high grade movement is running strong and true.

For the finishing touch, it comes equipped it with a new Patek Philippe strap and 18K gold Patek Philippe buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Accompanying the watch is an extract from the Patek Philippe archives attesting to its authenticity, originality, and original sale date. Patek charges 550 CHF for one.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.
