1945 Breitling Premier Vintage Pilot's / Aviator's Ref. 789 Chronograph Watch - 18K Rose Gold

Breitling

Item No. 8532SH

Today's offering showcases this all-original World War II Breitling ref. 789 Premier in beautiful condition.

Classic and collectable, it has a sleek case with superb faceted lugs and wonderful dial with Egyptian revival numbers at the primary hours. If you are looking for a Breitling Premier or high-end chronograph, this is a very fine example.

It has a well-executed crown wheel chronograph mechanism and is capable of recording events up to 45 minutes and was made for men who needed a true precision timing instrument. Its dial features an outer tachometer ring that measures the speed of objects, done especially for aviation and auto racing uses.

Its case has never been polished at all. It has strong lines and factory finish, and is in excellent condition with only light wear. Its fabulous dial is original and untouched, in just short of mint condition.

One of our Master Watchmakers has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part and installing a correct new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $995 value). Photos of the inside available upon request.

It is running extremely strong and true, keeping time like a brand new Breitling coming from the factory today in our testing position, and the chronograph resets very strongly and precisely.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap and rose gold tone buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

Vintage Breitling chronographs:
Since its founding in 1884, the Breitling firm has been known for working tirelessly to define what the perfect watch should be. Embraced by pilots since the dawning of aeronautics, Breitling watches are the only ones that grace the wrists of the world's elite aerobatic groups, namely the Blue Angels, the Thunderbirds, The British Red Arrows, and the Russian Knights.

A chronograph specialist since its founding, Breitling played key roles in the bringing about the idea of the modern wrist chronograph including inventing the first independent pushpiece in 1915, separating the start, stop, and reset features in 1923, and creating the second independent pushpiece in 1934 which established the modern wrist chronograph as we know it.

Vintage examples of Breitling's chronographs are sought after by serious collector's, aviation enthusiasts, Hollywood celebrities and anyone who desires to wear a world-class timepiece.
