1946 Longines Vintage Mens Large Art Deco Watch - Platinum & Diamonds

Longines

Item No. 8321

Today's offering showcases this large and very striking Longines mens wristwatch in platinum with diamonds made for the U.S. market. Our photos couldn't do it justice.

It diamond bejewelled diamond is suggestive of the glittering elegance associated with 1930's and 40's American high society.

Its long, curved platinum case has an extremely elegant faceted design. Complementing the case is its striking Art Deco dial (face) originally Longines factory set with diamonds.

As fine on the inside as the outside, it is powered by the under appreciated, very well-designed and finished caliber 9L engine. The 9L is on par with the rectangular movements found in some watches from even more prestigious makers at much higher price points, and this early 9L is factory equipped with a regulator whip, an uncommon extra feature.

It is a glittering watch with a regal style - it captured the essence of the rewards available to those who through hard work and dedication achieved a position of leadership in law, medicine, business.

Its gorgeous 42.5mm long case presents very nicely. It has some rippling to back, but on the wrist presents as mint. Its impressive diamond dial has just been restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America.

Its original faceted glass crystal has facets that match the case. Because of its very cool matching faceted design we left the original crystal even though it has one chip on the edge - if you would like a replacement please inquire.

Our team of Master Watchmakers spent over a year sympathetically restoring the watch which included fully servicing the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components, reassembling and lubricating the movement, installing a correct new-old-stock mainspring, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $595 value).

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new Java lizard strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
