1946 Vacheron & Constantin Mens Vintage Rectangular Watch with Hooded Lugs - 14K Gold

Vacheron & Constantin

Item No. 8400SH

Today's offering showcases this striking "barrel lug" model made exclusively for the U.S. market. Our photos couldn't do it justice.

In the 1930's and 40's, Vacheron & Constantin's elite Swiss workshop produced only twenty-five to thirty-five timepieces per day, making their vintage watches far scarcer than their modern counterparts.

Built circa 1946, shortly after the close of the Second World War, it combines exceptional quality with unusual and striking styling well-suited for the less restrained U.S. market.

The Art Deco period and the few years that followed, with its love for geometrical design saw the creation of striking pieces by Vacheron & Constantin. These were mainly dress watches as well as exotic and luxurious pieces at times, some of which were in multi-color gold.

It features dramatic hooded barrel lugs and a two-tone dial. Its distinctive lugs give the appearance that the band is integrated directly into the watch.

It still has all of its original parts.

Its case is better than near mint. Its dial was restored in vintage times. Please inquire if you would like it freshly restored.

One of our watchmakers has disassembled its high-grade handwound Vacheron cal. 433 movement down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. It is keeping accurate time.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
