In the late 1940's, as the Piaget name first began to gain worldwide fame, the family's expanding staff of master watchmakers and jewelers built watches to meet the needs of their wealthy clientele. Pouring individual attention and care into each piece they created only a fairly small number of watches.
Those destined for the U.S. market were cased stateside by contractors to avoid tariffs.
The beautiful Piaget showcased in this offering is an original example of this phenomenon. Crafted from 14K rose gold the contract case is elegant and classic. Powering it is a fine handwound Piaget movement.
This early Piaget is in pleasing original condition, fully original down to the dial, hands, winding crown. The rose gold filled bracelet appears to be original or period.
Our watchmaker has fully serviced the watch. It is ready for immediate enjoyment. Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
A distinctive vintage luxury watch that won't break the bank from what became a premier name. Modern Piaget don't come close to matching the charm of this original.
