1950's Girard Perregaux Vintage Mens Classic Dress Watch - 14K Gold

Girard Perregaux

Item No. 7733SH

Today’s offering showcases this beautifully balanced vintage Girard-Perregaux mens dress watch, a piece that with quiet confidence and refined restraint. Unlike most vintage GP's sold in the states, which were cased in States by contractors, this is a true all-Swiss creation.

To us, its aesthetic is reminiscent of some of the refined Patek Philippe dress watches from the same era - with purity of line, balance, and proportion - qualities that helped define high-end Swiss watchmaking mid- century.

Crafted in solid 14K gold with a slim profile and elegantly proportioned elongated lugs, the case reflects a period when dress watches were designed to sit naturally on the wrist - never workding too hard to call attention to themselves, yet unmistakably luxurious in execution.

Its silver dial is classicly understated. Applied gold baton hour markers, slender matching hands, and a recessed small seconds register at 6 o’clock come together in a way that feels more structural than decorative and restrained.

To power the watch Girard-Perregaux chose one of their high-quality Swiss hand-wound movements, finished in the brand’s traditional manner with crisp machining and a layout that reflects the firm’s long-standing role as a true manufacture.

It has all of its original parts down to its original crystal and has finished an expertly done sympathetic restoration.

Its case presents in excellent condition with only very light wear and only very light signs of previous polishing.

Its dial has been restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America – the printing could pass as factory done to the naked eye.

One of our Master Watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. Photos of the inside available upon request.

It is running very strong and true, keeping time on par with a new GP watch in our testing recording position.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
