This special watch features an unusual calendar design. The second crown located at ten is used both to advance the month in its window and to rotate the date bezel. Also possessing cutting edge at the time Incabloc shock-resistance, water-resistance (originally), and anti-magnetic construction, as the dial and case both proclaim, it featured key technologies from the period.

The case is large for the era, measuring 36.5mm in diameter, just slightly larger than a Rolex Datejust. It has a pleasing classic design and water-resistant style screw back.

But what really makes this watch stand out is its gorgeous original dial and hands. Its dial is better than near mint with nicely toned luminous and red markings for Sunday. The red is carried through with the date hand and striking pencil hands. We found another example by Eloga with this same motif.

It presents beautifully on the wrist. The back shows honest aging and a bit of wear only visible when the watch is off the wrist.

Max Lanadu Co, Inc. was a Brooklyn, New York based importer. He imported watches from about 1945 to about 1965. According to a jeweler's circular it would seem that Landau didn't really sell the watches himself, but rather acted more as a go-between or agent for the factories in Switzerland and retailers in the US and the pieces were just branded with his name, similar to a private brand or label.
