1950's Ulysse Nardin Vintage Mens Automatic Chronometer Watch - 14K Gold

Ulysse Nardin

Item No. 6811

We are proud to offer this rare and gorgeous Ulysse Nardin chronometer automatic wristwatch, a very distinctive example of one of their vintage watches made for the U.S. market.

In the 1950's, the era that culminated in designs like the '57 Chevy and the '59 Cadillac fine, Ulysse Nardin created some dramatic models only for the less restrained U.S. market. Such is the case with this special vintage classic, sure to be appreciated on your wrist.

As a men midsize, by today's standards it is a unisex size well-suited to a man with smaller wrists or a woman.

Unlike most of the more dramatically cased watches which have handwound movements, this watch has a very fine automatic chronometer movement constructed and adjusted to maintain accuracy across a wide range of temperatures.

It is fully original UN down to the UN contract case for the U.S. market, cabochon winding crown and all hands. It is in excellent original condition. Our photos don't do it justice.

Its case is in better than near mint condition. Its silver dial is original and untouched with a 3-6-9 Explorer style configuration and has warmed slightly completing the vintage look.

One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. It winds very smoothy is running strong and accurately.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

Ulysse Nardin:
Ulysse Nardin is best known by many collectors for creating chronometers, extremely accurate time keeping instruments. Their marine chronometer used by ship's captains to plot and follow the correct course while at sea. By employing sextants and chronometers, a captain could track the changes in his course over time and determine the exact location of his ship, and Nardin's marine chronometers were among the most reliable and sought after.
