1951 Rolex Mens Vintage "Shock Resisting" Super Oyster Watch, Stainless Steel - Classic & Rare Design

Rolex

Item No. 6473H

One of the more seldom seen classic vintage Rolex watches is the Oyster Precision as Rolex made most watches of this style with a date.

It features a much thinner profile than the Perpetual models due to its hand-wound movement, and its understated and very classic design contrast the "busier" look of some of the modern Rolex watches. It's a watch that is perfectly at home being worn everyday or only for special occasions.

The 6082 was one of the relatively few Rolex models to feature the short-lived Super Oyster crown which was produced for only approximately three years. The “Super-Oyster” winding crown was an attempt by Rolex to create a waterproof winding crown which did not need to be screwed down. While the system itself worked, in time the rubber seal perished and therefore this crown type was phased out after only a few years of production.

Most 6082's have traditional screw down crowns - 6082's with a Super Oyster crown are rare. The 6082 was also an early shock-resistant Rolex as noted on the dial. This Rolex checks the boxes for cool and interesting features.

It is all original down to the dial, all hands, and Super Oyster crown and presents beautifully. The dial is untouched. And the lugs are still full.

Its original handwound movement is running strong and very true.

For the finishing touch it comes equipped it with a very fine leather strap and original Rolex buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
