1952 Rolex Oyster Perpetual Mens Vintage Ref. 6084 Semi-Bubbleback Watch - 14K Gold

Rolex

Item No. 9082

Today's offering showcases this Certified Pre-Owned Rolex ref. 6084 Oyster Perpetual. It's a watch that is perfectly at home being worn everyday or only for special occasions.

Housed in one of Rolex's water-tight semi-Bubbleback Oyster cases, the wristwatch originally offered its owner complete protection against water, dust, and perspiration. Inside the rugged case Rolex placed their "Bubbleback" A260 movement.

The 6084 is a noteworthy Rolex model not only because of its semi-Bubbleback design, but also because of its historical importance - a steel version was presented to Sir Edmund Hillary by Rolex of India shortly after his ascent of Mt. Everest in 1953 and became part of Rolex lore.

Its parts are fully Rolex, and it even still has its original, early "Rolex +" crown. Our photos couldn't begin to do justice to how its condition presents.

Its case presents beautifully. It shows fairly mild to moderate signs of previous polishing and otherwise presents as mint condition. Its dial has previously been refinished in a more modern Roman numeral style - its gilt printing could pass as Rolex factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration a Master Watchmaker has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $795 value).

Its original Rolex A260 "Bubbleback" movement is running extremely strong and true. We have also timed the watch on a machine that spins it in all directions like it is being worn on the wrist - it is kept time on par with a brand new Rolex, running within approx. two seconds per day.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new calfskin leather strap with aftermarket Rolex style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
