One of the more seldom seen classic vintage Rolex watches is the Oyster Precision as Rolex made most watches of this style with a date.
It features a much thinner profile than the Perpetual models - its understated, elegant and classic design contrast the "busier" look of some of the modern Rolex watches.
Today's offering proudly showcases this rare ref. 6222 mens Rolex Oyster in gorgeous restored condition - on the wrist it presents virtually like a new Rolex.
This is the finest 6222 we have ever owned. It served as one of the predecessors to the Oysters that would use the forthcoming 1200 series for more than the next three decades. It uses the older patented Super Balance hunter handwound movement associated with Rolexes from the 30's until when this watch was made.
A stylish watch, it features a more mid-century look than some of the subsequent Oysters and Oysterdates. Its gold accents give it a more dressed-up style than all steel models.
Housed in one of Rolex's water-tight Oyster cases, the wristwatch originally offered its owner complete protection against water, dust, and perspiration.
It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It is fully Rolex down to its original early "Rolex +" crown. Its dial has been meticulously restored - its printing could pass as Rolex factory done to the naked eye. Its case presents as mint. On the wrist it presents beautifully.
A Master Watchmaker has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components, reassembling and lubricating the movement, replacing all of the waterproofing seals, timing testing and regulation (a $445 value).
It continues to keep extremely accurate time.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
We also have two fine quality aftermarket bracelets available for purchase so you can choose which look you prefer or switch between them depending on how you feel. One is done in a Rolex Presidential style and one is done in a Rolex Oyster style. Both have heavy solid link designs and are adjustable and brand new. Please see the sample photos in the listing.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
