1954 Omega Vintage "De Luxe" Constellation with Bracelet - Tropical Dial - 14K Gold with Box

Omega

Item No. 6393

Today's offering showcases this very collectable, classic, and original "De Luxe" Constellation with striking tropical dial. The patina is just incredible!

Powering it is an early "hammer rotor" 300 series movement, the first movements that powered the watches in the line. Here are a few of its features:

  • Original Cal. 354 "hammer" automatic movement worked into chronometer form
  • Officially certified as a chronometer by the "Contrôle Official Suisse des Chronomètres" (Swiss watch governing body), the highest distinction given to a watch based on its accuracy
  • Classic Constellation case with lyre lugs
  • Very striking and rare tropical "De Luxe" crosshair dial
  • Original Omega bracelet

It is 100% Omega down to all hands, the winding crown, and even the signed Omega crystal! Its case is in beautiful condition, and the observatory logo on the back retains clear details.

Our watchmaker has just fully disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled the movement, which winds smoothly and is keeping time.

Accompanying the watch is its correct Omega box.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

1950's Omega Constellation:

Until the 1950's, Rolex dominated the market for Chronometer wristwatches, selling over fifteen times more chronometers per year than Omega, its closest competitor. That all changed when Omega launched what would become its flagship model, the Constellation. A highly capable watch, the Constellation not only bridged the sales gap within a few years of its introduction, but eventually surpassed by a large margin the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Chronometer.
