Popularized in the late 1940's, the "Hour-Glass" shape was one of the most elegant forms from the period, exhibiting graceful lines and perfect symmetry. As the boldness of the fifties design sensibilities took hold, their form became much more angular and even somewhat avante garde.

Today's offering showcases this striking "pointed hourglass" watch by Longines from the era that culminated with designs like the '57 Chevy and '59 Cadillac.

We previously fully restored the watch, and it presents beautifully! The dial was refinished by one of the leading dial companies in North America. The case presents as just short of mint.

As part of the restoration our watchmaker freshly serviced the movement and installed a new-old-stock Longines-Wittnauer crystal.

It was purchased from us five years ago and became part of the discerning collection of a renowned pediatrician.
