1955 Patek Philippe Vintage Mens Watch with Dramatic Case - 18K Rose Gold

Patek Philippe

Item No. 7973

We are proud to offer the striking and classic vintage Patek Philippe wristwatch showcased in today's offering made for the French market.

With its dramatic dimensional lugs and water-resistant style screw back, it showcases a distinctive and seldom seen style from Patek Philippe. The boldness of the design is all the more pleasant and interesting given that Patek Philippe tended toward more restrained designs.

The original case made for Patek bears correct French hallmarks. Given that this is a country specific piece it likely was made in very small numbers. We have not seen another example.

It is also noteworthy in its combination of being a bolder dress watch yet having a thick screw back case.

This gorgeous Patek has really captured our hearts. It is powered by its illustrious Patek Philippe's 12-400 movement with eight adjustments - five for chronometer positions and three for heat, cold, and even isochronism. Isochronism is the amount of wind left in the movement. Most watches slow down slightly as their power reserve moves toward empty. That is not the case with this watch - it is very high-grade and stamped twice with the prestigious Poinçon de Genève.

Our photos couldn't capture the fabulous and deep dimensional quality of the lugs. They are amazing!

Its original, 18K rose gold French made case for Patek is in excellent condition. It retains boths of its French hallmarks. One lug has had prior discrete reinforcement on the underside of its wire lugs, as is common with fixed lug watches. On the wrist, it presents as just short of mint.

Its dial has been restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America. It retains all of its raised black enamel printing.

Four of our Master Watchmakers and a Master Dial Specialist worked for the last year and a half restoring this special watch to breathe new life into it which even included replacing worn parts with genuine Patek replacements and custom fabricating a part to the original factory functional quality (restoration value $3,495).

Now it is running extremely strong and true, keeping time on par with a brand new Patek in our testing position.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new Swiss made leather strap designed for fixed lug use making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
