1957 Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Vintage Mens Reveil Wrist Alarm - 14K Gold

Jaeger-LeCoultre

Item No. 6347

Today's offering showcases this very fine LeCoultre Memovox in beautiful restored condition. It is a classic example of a LeCoultre alarm and has an uncommon solid 14K gold case with wonderful lugs. It was in the restoration process for nearly 2.5 years.

As mid-century approached and lifestyle paces moved faster and faster, top Swiss firms needed a way to enhance the experiences of their now frequently traveling top clients and to help him better organize and govern his most precious possession - his time. In response to this need the engineers at Jaeger-LeCoultre created an alarm wristwatch in 1951.

The watches featured a fully mechanical alarm system. To pull off this difficult task, Jaeger-LeCoultre equipped these watches with significant inner alarm gearing and even an additional stem and crown, making elements of a second movement that worked seamlessly in conjunction with the normal timing portion.

Its parts are original down to the dial and hands and correctly unsigned winding crowns. The dial is bright and clean, a very nicely done vintage restoration. The case presents very nicely.

One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and fully serviced it using LeCoultre parts. It is running very strong and true. For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, a new timing certificate, and a very cool copy of the repair manual for this model detailing the movement parts and their operation.
