1958 Rolex Pre-Cellini Vintage Larger Ladies Dress Watch - 9K Gold

Rolex

Item No. 10148

Today's offering showcases this gorgeous and uncommon example of one of the company's fine mid-century dress watches made for the British market.

Crafted in 9-carat gold and hallmarked in London in 1958, this vintage Rolex Precision represents the elegant simplicity and meticulous engineering that defined certain of Rolex's ladies’ watches from the era.

At just over 20 mm in diameter yet nearly 28 mm from lug to lug, its case is slightly larger than most contemporaries, giving it a slightly larger than usual presence and poise on the wrist, while still preserving its timeless femininity and grace. It was made for Rolex by their esteemed English case maker David Shackman and Sons.

Powering this gem is a fine Rolex Precision timekeeping mechanism. Featuring dual KIF shock absorbers, it employed one of Rolex's technical refinements not often seen until later and was more durable than most of its contemporaries.

We were fortunate to acquire it with all of its original parts down to its hands and signed winding crown.

Its case is in excellent condition with only light wear and light rippling to the back. Its untouched original dial is in honest condition. Its top lacquer has aged to a tropical tone that we really like - our photos couldn't quite do it justice.

One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, fairly recently fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and timing testing and regulation (a $695 value).

We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping very accurate time.

It comes attached to a vintage black leather strap in very good condition. If you would like a brand new black cord band installed, please inquire.

For the finishing touch, we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

Your watch is important to us, and we will take care of it for its lifetime. We provide the best after sale care in the business with an extremely experienced team of four Master Watchmakers all of whom each have over thirty-five years of experience and a large number of parts.
