1960's Blancpain S+F Vintage Ladies Backwind Cocktail Watch - 18K White Gold & Diamonds

Blancpain

Item No. 9252SH

Today's offering showcases this very rare and extremely refined ladies Blancpain by Spritzer & Fuhrmann miniature backwinding watch. With a diameter of a mere 8.6mm, this tiny masterpiece showcases incredible watchmaking skills. In a day and age when watches have become bigger and bigger, it's often forgotten that the truest test of elite watchmaking skill is going small.

Crafted from 18K white gold in France by master jewelers and bejeweled with 54 diamonds that total approximately 1.65 carats, it embodies elegance and refined taste. The round brilliant cut diamonds are nearly flawless - bright white and full of fire as you would expect from a watch of this quality.

Of the many luxurious ladies watches manufactured during vintage times, the backwind models were usually a company's top-of-the-line mechanical offering for women, often covered in jewels, and often costing the equivalent of many thousands of dollars or tens of thousands in today's valuation. These watches also possessed a great level of artistic refinement, concealing their winding crowns beneath the case back to avoid disrupting the watch's perfect purity and full symmetry.

Featuring a dramatic fully diamond encrusted cover that hides the watch, this cocktail watch as it is called, added the perfect finishing touch to the formal attire worn to galas, award ceremonies, or special gatherings.

Much more than just an objet d'art, this luxurious jeweled accessory also showcased the state-of-the-art in miniaturization technology at the time.

It would have been quite the statement piece for a very special woman - and now it's available to be a statement piece for you or your loved one.

Spritzer & Fuhrmann (more often known as S+F) was one of the world's most prestigious and internationally recognized jewelers in the Caribbean islands for over a half century. At its peak the firm had more than 40 stores in Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and on other Caribbean islands.

In 1977, Spritzer & Fuhrmann became the only jeweler ever to have had a commemorative postage stamp in their name, issued by the government of the Netherlands Antilles to celebrate the firm's 50th anniversary.

We were fortunate to acquire it with all of its original parts down to its original crown for the backwinding movement. Its case, which retains strong original stamping, is in excellent condition with fairly light wear. Its dial is 100% original and untouched.

Designed to embody the femininity of the times, this Blancpain creation possesses refined elegance in its sleek and very petite form and strength in its brick link bracelet, which is in excellent. Its tiny handwound Blancpain movement is running and keeping generally accurate time.

One of our Master Watchmakers has freshly serviced the watch.

For the finishing touch, we have meticulously detailed this miniature masterpiece making it ready for immediate enjoyment. Please see the photo of the watch on a six inch wrist to gauge its size.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

Don't miss the opportunity to own this very special vintage Blancpain. Today's ladies watches don't come close to matching the history and romance of this incredible original.
