1960's Universal Geneve White Shadow Microtor Watch, Automatic - Stainless Steel

Universal Geneve

Item No. 5043

Today's offering features an exceptional White Shadow watch with Microtor movement.

Described by a member of the watch media as the greatest technical advancement in self-winding watches in 30 years when it was introduced, the micro-rotor powered movement allowed watchmakers for the first time to fit even thin dress watches with automatic movements.

Here are some of this watch's features:

  • Universal Geneve Microtor caliber 2-66 micro-rotor powered movement. The automatic winding system is kept powered by the use of a small solid gold rotor inset into the movement. The company was a pioneer of the revolutionary microtor design still in use today by a number of companies. Later Buren, Piaget, and also sought similar patents. Patek Philippe and Chopard have used the technology for their exclusive and very expensive micro-rotor powered models.
  • The high-grade movement is protected against shock in two places and beautifully finished. It is of the quality you would find in watches that cost thousands of dollars.
  • Elegant vintage dress style design
  • Ultra thin automatic design - the complete watch is only approx. 7.5mm thick!

The watch is in gorgeous true expertly restored condition - it presents as a 9.7 out of 10. It is fully UG down to the original hands and crown. The dial is a perfect refinishing.

As part of the restoration a Master Watchmaker has just freshly overhauled the Microtor movement.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

A fifty year old Microtor watch that looks like new!
