1961 Omega Geneve Vintage Mens Dress Watch with Date - 9K Gold

Omega

Item No. JF-01

Today's offering showcases this pleasing original example of one of Omega's classic and handsome vintage early Geneve watches. It is from the more desirable early Geneve series whose members bore the elegant Geneve script on the dial.

It was made for the British market and bears an inscription suggesting it was sold in 1962.

It has an elegant and timeless case, classic silver dial with gold markers, and fine adjusted handwound Omega movement originally adjusted to two positions.

Its case is 34mm in diameter, the same size as a Rolex Date watch.

It is fully original down to the dial, hands, and crown and presents in very pleasing condition.

The movement was previously cleaned and oiled. We have timed it in five chronometer positions - it continues to keep time nearly on par with a new Omega. It comes equipped with a high quality aftermarket Teju lizard strap with modern Omega buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a 90-day C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

Omega Geneve:
Celebrating humanity's supreme achievements and performances, from man's landing on the moon to the Olympic competitions, Omega watches have been prized for generations by those seeking the most precise timepieces in the world. Since its creation in 1848 by Louis Brandt, Omega has relentlessly pursued watchmaking perfection, earning worldwide honors and fame.

Worn on the wrists of celebrities Michael Schumacher, Pierce Brosnan, Michael Phelps, and Ernie Els, Omega timepieces rank with Rolex and other of the world's best Swiss firms.

Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve). According to Omega the name referred to to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records.
