Today's offering showcases this classic and beautifully restored Seamaster from c. 1963. It has an elegant Seamaster design with screwback case and royal blue dial.
Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 552 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. It has 24 jewels, seven more than in many similar movements. It is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from the era - arguably the finest.
It measures 34.5mm in diameter without the crown, just slightly larger than the size of a Rolex Date watch.
It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration. Its case presents as mint condition with only light signs of previous polishing to the back. The lugs retain strong lines.
Its Omega dial has been meticulously refinished - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. Its movement is very clean.
As part of the restoration, the movement has been freshly overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It continues to run very strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a new Omega in our testing position.
For the finishing touch, it has been equipped with a new calfskin leather strap with aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
