1968 Omega Seamaster Geneve Mens Vintage Watch with 565 Movement, Double Signed Version - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 6937

Today's offering showcases this very cool vintage Seamaster Geneve 166.002 mens watch. This reference is especially interesting because it was normally branded as a Seamaster or occasionally as a Geneve. However a few were double signed as a Seamaster Geneve. While Geneve signed examples are seen much less often than Seamaster signed examples, double signed versions like this one are seldom found.

It measures approximately 34.5mm in diameter without the crown, in between the sizes of a Rolex Date and a Rolex Datejust.

Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 565 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. It has 24 jewels and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.

It measures approximately 35mm in diameter without the crown, in between the size of a Rolex Date and a Rolex Datejust.

It is 100% Omega down to the dial, hands, winding crown, and even the Omega signed crystal!

The case is very honest - it is original and has never been polished. The rare dial is original and untouched. It has warmed to a light sepia tone, giving it a true vintage look. Please inquire if you would like it restored.

1950's and 60's Seamasters are great buys as parts are readily available for their well-made movements, and they're not hard to service.

Its movement has recently been cleaned and oiled. We have timed it to precision on a state-of-the-art computerized system. Because of its small winding crown it's a good candidate for a watch winder.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new Teju lizard strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to the watch's performance.

The Seamaster:
Omega is perhaps best known by watch connoisseurs for its Seamaster line of dive watches. Introduced in 1948, they have been were embraced by water sports enthusiasts and often marry a striking look with a high performance movement.
