1969 Omega Constellation "C" Chronometer Vintage Mens Watch with Tiffany Blue Dial - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 9976

Today's offering showcases this superior example of an early "C" or third generation Constellation with distinctive Tiffany & Co. robin's egg blue color dial.

Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 564 movement officially certified as a chronometer.

The 1960's were an important decade for Omega. In 1959 Omega introduced a new series of movements, one of which was the Caliber 564. This mechanism was one of the finest quantity-produced automatic movements made, and is the mechanism that powers this Constellation.

The next year Omega produced 20,000 Constellations in succession that all achieved chronometer status with no failures.

These early "C" differs from its successors in that as mentioned it employs a high-grade 500 series movement, made before Omega began to try to reduce costs, and a domed acrylic crystal rather than a flat mineral glass one.

It has all of its original parts and has just finished a true expertly done restoration - it presents as a 9.5 out of 10.

Its case presents as just short of mint with light signs of previous polishing to the back, slight aging visible at the edge of the engine bay, and slight wear underneath the lugs from a metal band.

On the wrist, it presents as gorgeous mint. Our photos couldn't do it justice.

Its dial has been meticulously custom refinished in Tiffany & Co. robin's egg blue - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

As part of the restoration, its chronometer movement has been serviced by a Master Watchmaker. It is running very strong and true, keeping very accurate time.

For the finishing touch, we have installed a new aftermarket leather band and aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

A more than half-century old Omega that presents on the wrist like new!

Note: An example of this model resides in the Omega Museum in Switzerland, and a published example can be found in Marco Richon's work, Omega: A Journey Through Time, 2007, pg. 371
