Today's offering showcases this pleasing example of one of Omega's vintage gent's Geneve watches.
Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve). According to Omega the name referred to to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records.
It features a "tropical" water-resistant style case with screw back well-suited for a tropical climate or for someone with sensitive skin.
The silver dial with baguette markers is original, and the high grade hand-wound Omega movement with quick-setting date is very clean.
An Omega specialist watchmaker has just cleaned and oiled the watch. The watch has also been equipped with an Omega strap and new Omega buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
Omega:
Worn on the wrists of celebrities Michael Schumacher, Pierce Brosnan, Michael Phelps, and Ernie Els Omega timepieces rank with those from the world's fine Swiss firms.
