1961 Omega Geneve Vintage Mens Handwound "Disco Volante" Watch - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 7548

Today's offering showcases this gorgeously restored and rare example of one of Omega's classic vintage gent's Geneve watches.

Our web research turned up only one other example anywhere on the internet (although we are not suggesting that only two were made).

Known in collecting circles as the Flying Saucer or in Italian "Disco Volante," this style of watch with large bezel has a dramatic, avant-garde flair, yet is elegant enough to be worn on the wrists of men of distinction. Both Audemars Piguet and Patek Philippe made their own versions of Disco Volante watches.

The case possesses a recessed crown disrupting less the purity of the perfectly symmetrical circular design.

Powering it is its original caliber 600 handwound movement adjusted to two positions that powered many of Omega's watches from the era including Seamasters and was even worked into a chronometer version.

It is 100% Omega down to the original hands and winding crown! It presents in true gorgeously restored condition.

Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice!

The case presents as mint condition. The original dial has been meticulously refinished - the word Geneve was done in an earlier period font.

As part of the restoration a Master Watchmaker has disassembled it down to its last screw and overhauled it. It winds smoothly and is running strong and very true. Photos of the inside available upon request.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

A four decade old Omega that looks like new on the wrist!
