1972 Omega Geneve Vintage Mens Automatic Watch with Quick-Setting Date - 18K Gold Plated & Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 7685

Today's offering showcases this distinctive and pleasing example of one of Omega's vintage gent's Geneve watches.

It features a strong black dial, classic 18K gold plated and steel case and automatic caliber 1481 Omega movement with quick-setting date.

Its so-called tropical or hypo-allergenic case has the look on the wrist of a solid gold Omega for a fraction of the price.

It is fully Omega down to the hands and winding crown! It has just finished a true expertly done restoration - it presents as a 9.8 out of 10.

The case presents as mint. The dial has been meticulously refinished - its gilt printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.

A Master Watchmaker has serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $445 value). The crystal has been upgraded to mineral glass.

For the finishing touch it has been equipped it with a new leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.

A four and a half decade old Omega that presents like new on the wrist!

Omega Geneve line:
Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve). According to Omega the name referred to to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records.

Omega watches can be found on the wrists of many prominent figures including Pierce Brosnan, Michael Schumacher, Michael Phelps, Ernie Els, Prince William, and one graced the wrist of President John F. Kennedy. Omega has been the official timekeeper for 21 Olympic Games and is the official chronometer of NASA.
