1973 Omega Geneve Vintage Automatic Day Date Mens Watch - Stainless Steel

Omega

Item No. 9764

Today's offering showcases this cool and fabulously original example of one of Omega's classic vintage Geneve double quick-setting watches.

As a Seamaster, it's a watch that has both elegance and sporting capabilities.

Here are some of its features:

* Pioneering so-called "double quick-set" day and date features - This is an early double quick-setting day date Omega watch. Omega created the 1020 and 1022 series movement with a double quick-set capability for convenient setting of the day and date. Though many connoisseurs associate the idea of the double quick-set watch with Rolex, which first offered the President model with this "new" feature in late 1990, Omega's 1020 series mechanisms were a pioneer of the technology in large scale production watches.

* Caliber 1022 movement. Fast beat (28,800 bph) balance system for greater accuracy and the higher jeweled version caliber - it has 23 jewels instead of 17

* Full size 35mm case - in between the sizes of a Rolex Date and a Rolex Datejust.

It has a water-resistant style case with screw back, timeless silver dial, and fine Omega movement originally adjusted to two positions.

It is all-original and presents as a 9.6 out of 10.

Its case presents as gorgeous mint with strong lines. Its dial is original and untouched, in mint condition. Its luminous has lightly toned nicely.

Its movement has just been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It is near pristine. Photos of the inside available upon request.

We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist. It is keeping very accurate time.

For the finishing touch, a new calfskin leather strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle has been installed making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.

A more than half-century old all-original Omega that looks like new on the wrist!

Omega Geneve:

Omega watches can be found on the wrists of many prominent figures including Pierce Brosnan, Michael Schumacher, Michael Phelps, Ernie Els, Prince William, and one graced the wrist of President John F. Kennedy. Omega has been the official timekeeper for 21 Olympic Games and is the official chronometer of NASA.

Beginning in 1953 Omega placed the name Geneve on the dials of some of the members of the 30mm collection which at the time were produced in the company's workshops in Geneve (to put Geneve on a dial of a watch certain components and processes must take place in Geneve). According to Omega the name referred to to the Genevan Observatory where the early 30mm calibers set a number of records. They later expanded the use of the model name to other watches like this one.
