1973 Rolex Vintage Mens Oysterdate Date Watch, Silver Dial - Stainless Steel

Rolex

Item No. 9203

Today's offering showcases this superior Certified Pre-Owned Rolex Oysterdate Precision in gorgeous original condition with very classic silver dial. Our photos couldn't begin to do it justice.

The Oysterdate Precision have become desirable non-sport vintage Rolex watches because their understated and classic design contrast the "busier" look of some of the modern Rolex watches. It's a watch that is at home being worn everyday or only for special occasions. Produced from the early 1950's into the 1980's, it was a strong commercial success for Rolex, winning a large following.

The elegant and sophisticated markers on this watch are our very favorite design from all of the Oysterdate watch dial variations from the era. The markers on the primary hours have a very subtle tuxedo guilloche texturing which changes their appearance just a bit from the rest of the high polished markers when the light hits them.

Powering the watch is its original Rolex 1200 series handwound movement with date and shock resistance.

It has all of its original parts. If you're a discerning collector or looking for a vintage Rolex that presents as superior original condition, unlike most examples, you've found it.

Its case presents as just short of perfect mint with only the slightest signs of previous polishing and remnants of wear underneath the lugs from a bracelet previously being installed. The lugs are still wonderfully beefy.

Its untouched dial is original and gorgeous mint. It is pristine even under magnification.

Its original movement is running strongly.

One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a new mainspring and crystal and gaskets, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $695 value).

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap with aftermarket Rolex style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

We also stock vintage styled distressed leather straps. If you're interested please inquire.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.

Note: Published examples of this model can be found in Osvaldo Patrizzi's work Rolex, Collecting Wristwatches, 2001 Edition, Vol. 2, p. 378-381.

We also have Rolex style aftermarket bracelets in stock. If you're interested, please inquire.
