Today's offering showcases this classic and rare mens Constellation. It is large for the era measuring 37mm in diameter, and its Tonneau shape make it present much larger than a Rolex Datejust.
Its ultra-thin automatic movement measures only 4.25mm thick. It has a thinner rotor to reduce stress on winding parts.
It is slightly enigmatic, in that while Constellation were branded as Omega's flagship watch, so they essentially were always chronometer, this one was not. It uses the non-chronometer cal. 1012, which is actually very similar to the chronometer version, the 1011, both with 23 jewels. In the 1000 series, the chronometer version wasn't significantly improved.
It is a model rarely seen and has a very retro style to it. While TV shaped Seamasters are ubiquitous, it's one of the few Connies with a TV shaped case.
We love its elegant champagne and silver muli-tiered dial!
It has 100% Omega parts. It is very honest original and in pleasing condition. It has never been polished.
One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. Photos of the inside available upon request.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new crocodile strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
