Today's offering showcases this classic and gorgeously restored vintage Omega Seamaster day date with caliber 1022 movement and distinctive shamrock green dial.
As a Seamaster, it's a watch that has both elegance and sporting capabilities.
Here are some of its features:
* Pioneering so-called "double quick-set" day and date features - This is an early double quick-setting day date Omega watch. Omega created the 1020 and 1022 series movement with a double quick-set capability for convenient setting of the day and date. Though many connoisseurs associate the idea of the double quick-set watch with Rolex, which first offered the President model with this "new" feature in late 1990, Omega's 1020 series mechanisms were a pioneer of the technology in large scale production watches.
* Shamrock green dial - Fast beat (28,800 bph) balance system for greater accuracy and the higher jeweled version caliber - it has 23 jewels instead of 17
* Caliber 1022 movement - Fast beat (28,800 bph) balance system for greater accuracy and the higher jeweled version caliber - it has 23 jewels instead of 17
* Seamaster model for the U.S. market - Quite of few examples of this model, which was created by the Norman Morris Agency is New York, that were in solid gold were branded and sold through Tiffany & Co.
* All of its original parts down to its original waterproofing seal.
It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It has all of its original parts and presents in beautiful restored condition - a 9.2 out of 10.
The case presents very nicely. It has some natural aging between the lugs - otherwise it presents as mint. On the wrist it presents as mint.
Its original Omega dial has been meticulously custom refinished in shamrock green - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye. Kindly note that the darkened area in the center of the dial is just a reflection of the black camera above it.
As part of the restoration, the movement has been overhauled by a Master Watchmaker. It is running very strong and true. We have also timed it on a machine that simulates it being worn on the wrist - it is keeping time like a new Omega.
For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a brand new leather strap and aftermarket Omega style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
A more than four and a half decade old Omega that looks like new on the wrist!
