Today's offering showcases this beautiful Connoisseur of Time Certified Pre-Owned ladies Cartier Tank watch. It has an iconic tank case, beautiful Cartier numberless dial, gold "epee" hands, and sapphire topped crown, and mechanical Cartier movement.

The dial is a beautiful shade of brown, similar to chocolate brown except with a very slight reddish hue. Its smooth lacquered surface takes on a marbled depth, exhibiting natural visual richness that gives the watch an elegant, warm tone and complements the gold well.

Before cost-cutting measures brought about the widespread use of cheaper quartz movements for many wristwatches, Cartier contracted with watch manufacturers to produce mechanical movements designed to last a lifetime. Using traditional watchmaking practices, these gifted craftsmen gave individual attention to each wristwatch. As a result, Cartier wristwatches with mechanical movements are often more sought after by collectors than their quartz counterparts.

We were fortunate to acquire our Tank in all original condition down to its original Cartier band and buckle.

It is an attractive and especially honest original Tank. The vermeil case retains strong geometry. It is in excellent condition with only very light signs of wear and none of the gold wearthrough that is common with these watches.

Its dial — a deep, lustrous chocolate lacquer with gentle marbling — is particularly beautiful, capturing the warm, elegant tone that made these vintage brown Cartier dials so sought-after among collectors. It is in mint condition. Its original and untouched lacquer surface shows the natural tonal variation and richness expected of original dials, not the flat or overly glossy look of refinished examples.

One of our Master Watchmakers who has done authorized servicing work for Cartier's Service Center and who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has freshly serviced the watch which consisted of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $895 value).

A Master Watchmaker has just freshly overhauled the movement. It is running extremely strong and true, keeping time on par with a brand new Cartier in our testing position.
