Today's offering showcases this wonderful Favor brand German / Swiss pocket watch owned and used by Siegfried & Roy, the greatest magician duo of all time.

Favor was a brand of Schätzle & Tschudin, which was founded in 1909 and was based in Pforzheim, presumably with Swiss connections in Basel. They made fine quality watches, generally mid-range. Very capable watchmakers, one we have seen was a five-minute repeater and during World War II they notably partnered with A. Lange & Söhne to help the latter overcome production bottlenecks by assembling and fine-tuning watches for Lange.

It features a full size mens 18K gold plated 40 micron hunters case with pleasing period decorations. It measures 50.5mm in diameter not including the bow which is finely decorated with a snake motif.

The case was made by casemaker Gustav Rau, who supplied cases for Omega, IWC, Zenith, Longines as well as less widely known customers, and is correctly stamped with Mr. Rau's buffalo hallmark.

The dial is light champagne in color with Breguet numerals and Art Deco design that carries through to the "cathedral" hands.

Powering the watch is its original Favor caliber 6 movement.

We have not polished the watch or done anything to the outside of it...we left it just as Siegfried & Roy last used it which includes a bit dirt, etc. On the inside we have inspected and tested it and regulated the timekeeping making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
