Today's offering showcases this very fine and cool Swiss antique timepiece owned and used by comedy legend Steve Martin.
It has a lovely Art Deco purse style design and is housed in a charming sterling silver case that bears hallmarks from Birmingham, England in 1934.
The centerpiece of the watch is it gorgeous guilloche textured black dial with luminous markers and hands.
Powering it is a quite high quality Swiss movement made by Sapho of Geneva, complete with two adjustments for more accurate timekeeping. Its quality is on par with Omega and other similar Swiss firms.
It is in all-original condition and we have left it cosmetically untouched just as we received it. When we acquired it, the movement was in need of some restoration work so two of our Master Watchmakers spent nearly a year restoring the movement of this special watch to breathe new life into it (restoration value $995).
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
Also accompanying it is a print off of a Certificate of Authenticity and Provenance from a well-known auction house.
