A decade ago, before iconic re-edition models like the Monaco and Carerra, the TAG Heuer 2000 was one of the company's mainstream models. Along with the basic 1000 series, the 2000's symbolized the company.
Today's offering showcases this full featured classic TAG Heuer 2000 series divers watch with original Tag Heuer quartz chronograph movement. A very fine movement with Dubois Depraz 2000 chronograph module, it is capable of precision timing and was effectively a forerunner of the Calibre S movement, combining a quartz base with a mechanical chronograph module.
It is full size, measuring 40mm without the crown, about the size of a Rolex sports watch.
It has been previously restored and presents in gorgeous condition. Although the bezels on these watches are often seen "ghosted" with no visible black markings just like on this watch, which gives them a more elegant look, we believe the numbers/hashes on the bezel would have originally been blackened and wanted to point that our for the sake of accuracy.
With that one exception, the rest of the watch presents as about a 9.5 out of 10. The case present as just short of mint. The plating has been redone and the back has very slight remnants of wear. On the wrist it presents as mint.
The dial is original and mint, as is the sapphire crystal. The bracelet presents as mint.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
