1975 Audemars Piguet "Extra-Flat" Vintage Mens Midsize Watch - 18K White Gold

Audemars Piguet

Item No. 9548R

Today's offering showcases this mens midsize Audemars Piguet with ultra thin caliber 2003 movement. Its thin white gold case and classic silver dial and hands, give it a fashionable and elegant vintage style. Our photos couldn't do it justice.

Just as fine on the inside as it is on the outside, the watch is powered by Audemars Piguet's legendary extra-flat movement, co-developed with Vacheron & Constantin.

Released in 1946 the minuscule movement was a true feat of technical engineering. It is the thinnest movement ever created for a normal size watch, measuring a mere 1.64mm!

To honor the achievement, Vacheron & Constantin presented personalized examples to several key Heads of State including President Dwight Eisenhower. Only a few luxury watches in the following decades would lay claim to this movement earning them reputations as masterpieces of twentieth-century watchmaking.

Epitomizing the essence of "'the classic watch" remembered today, watches with this styling made by Patek, Vacheron & AP feature a manually wound movement, round gold cases, understated dial, slender hands, and simple baton markers. As one writer aptly stated, "The extra-slim watch, whose style embraces only the strict essentials, has continued to seduce for its elegance and discretion."

As a mens midsize it is well-suited for someone who doesn't have a large wrist.

Like only the very finest watches in the world - select watches from the likes of Patek, AP, and V & C, it is adjusted to five positions, heat, cold, and even isochronism. Isochronism is the amount of wind left in the movement. Most watches slow down slightly as their power reserve moves toward empty. That is not the case with this watch - it is very high-grade.

It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. It has all of its original parts and presents in stunning condition!

Its case presents as mint with only the slightest marks on the edge of the back from previous opening - otherwise it is an over half-century old watch that amazing. The case edges are sharp and the hallmarks are crisp.

Its timeless silver dial has been meticulously refinished - the printing could pass as Audemars Piguet factory done to the naked eye.

A Master Watchmaker has freshly overhauled the movement, which is very clean. Photos of the inside available upon request.

It is running extremely strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a new AP in our testing recording position.

For the finishing touch, we have equipped it with a new leather band making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
