Before cost-cutting measures brought about the widespread use of quartz movements for certain wristwatches, Cartier utilized Swiss-crafted mechanical movements. Using centuries old watchmaking practices, craftsmen poured individual attention into each wristwatch.
In vintage times the company made two distinct types of wristwatches - those signed Cartier throughout with major components made by different Cartier contractors and others that were complete watches created especially for Cartier by another premier watchmaker, such as Jaeger-LeCoultre, Piaget, or Concord Watch Co. Such is the case with this Cartier especially made for the firm by Concord.
Today's offering showcases this beautiful Certified Pre-Owned vintage ladies solid gold Cartier.
Its design elements are easily recognized as Cartier: A timeless 14K oval gold case, a classic white Roman dial, and a sapphire topped crown. Its original "Breguet Moon" style hands complete its distinctively elegant look.
Its Concord for Cartier handwound mechanism is the same caliber (named caliber 78 in Cartier made watches) found in almost all mechanical Carter Tanks from the era.
It is in gorgeous restored condition. Its part are all original down to the solid gold buckle and presents on the wrist as just short of perfect mint. Its case is in just short of mint condition and still retains its crisp hallmark. Its dial has just been restored by one of the leading dial experts in North America.
One of our watchmakers has freshly disassembled the watch down to the last screw and cleaned and oiled it and installed a new-old-stock crystal making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new aftermarket leather strap and the watch's original buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
Don't miss the chance to own this classic solid gold vintage Cartier for the price of an entry level steel TAG Heuer.
