Designed for lovers of beautiful objects, the exceptionally styled Santos embodies Cartier's classic sophistication. This mens full size Santos features a stainless steel case with previously custom-refinished black Roman dial with steel "epee" hands, sapphire topped crown, and Cartier mechanical movement.
The original bezel has previously been aftermarket set with brilliant sparkling diamonds that are white and eye clean.
Unlike the quartz version of the Santos, this more desirable mechanical example possesses an automatic movement that showcases the timeless art of traditional watchmaking.
It presents in gorgeous condition. On the wrist it presents as about a 9.5 out of 10 - almost like new with slight wear and stretch to the bracelet.
Our watchmaker has just freshly cleaned and oiled the movement.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate attesting to its performance.
Cartier Santos:
Worn by Bill Clinton, Elton John, and Djimon Hounsou, Cartier watches have long been favorites of royalty, Hollywood celebrities, and anyone desiring to wear a timepiece of distinction.
Cartier created the Santos in honor of the famous Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont. Alberto Santos-Dumont, a true daring aviation pioneer, flew in France and Europe in some of the first prototype airplanes. After hearing complaints from him friend about how difficult it was to access his pocket watch in the cockpit, Cartier rose to the challenge by creating a special watch that could be strapped to the wrist.
