Worn by Jennifer Aniston, Anna Wintour, and the late Princess Diana, the company's watches have long been favorites of royalty, Hollywood celebrities, and any woman desiring to wear a watch of distinction.
Designed personally by Louis Cartier in 1917 and patterned after an army tank, Cartier's iconic Tank watch symbolized speed and achievement. Cartier Tanks, already known as a true iconic watch, have seen an explosion in popularity in the last year.
Today's offering showcases this beautiful Certified Pre-Owned ladies Cartier Tank watch. It has an iconic tank case, black Cartier dial, gold "epee" hands, and sapphire topped crown, and mechanical Cartier movement.
Before cost-cutting measures brought about the widespread use of cheaper quartz movements for many wristwatches, Cartier contracted with watch manufacturers to produce mechanical movements designed to last a lifetime. Using traditional watchmaking practices, these gifted craftsmen gave individual attention to each wristwatch. As a result, Cartier wristwatches with mechanical movements are often more sought after by collectors than their quartz counterparts.
Our Cartier Tank has all of its original parts down to its original strap and buckle.
Its case presents in good condition - only the lugs' tips have slivers of gold wearthrough. The rest of the case shows fairly light wear. On the wrist it presents nicely. Please inquire if you would like the case refinished.
Its original dial presents beautifully. While the lacquer of these solid color vintage Cartier dials often show crazing hairlines this one does not. It presents as mint.
Its original Cartier band, which has been heavily worn on the underside, and the original Cartier buckle shows plating wear. Please inquire if you would like a new band and buckle. We have a genuine Cartier buckle in stock. Please inquire.
One of our Master Watchmakers who has done authorized servicing work for Cartier's Service Center has freshly serviced the watch which consisted of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, replacing any overly worn components with Cartier replacements, installing a new mainspring, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $695 value).
It is running very strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a brand new Cartier in our testing recording position.
For the finishing touch, we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
