1949 LeCoultre Vintage Mens 10K Gold Filled "Grasshopper" Watch, - The Aristocrat

Jaeger-LeCoultre

Item No. 6210

The wristwatch showcased in today's offering is one of the desirable U.S. market dress models made by Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Long ago Jaeger-LeCoultre built their reputation as masters of watch design. In vintage times the company carried on the tradition and crafted certain very distinctive watches for the less restrained American market. Such is the case with the wristwatch showcased in today's offering, an early example of one of the desirable U.S. market dress models made by Jaeger-LeCoultre.

Officially named the Aristocrat, the uncommon watch is more commonly known among collectors as the "Grasshopper" and possesses elegant drama in spades.

It has all of its original parts down to even its original crystal mineral glass crystal. On the wrist it presents in pleasing condition. The case back shows signs of restoration not visible while its being worn and that has been priced in to the sale price.

The original silver two-tone dial is untouched and has warmed to a sepia tone giving it a true vintage look.

One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it. It is keeping very accurate time. Photos of the inside available upon request.

For the finishing touch we have equipped it with a brand new Italian calfskin strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a full-page custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
