1950 Longines Vintage Mens Midsize Watch with Knot Lugs - 14K Gold

Longines

Item No. 6806

The late 1940's and 1950's were the pinnacle of innovative aesthetic designs for Longines U.S. market dress watches, and one of our very favorites is the elegant knot lug case.

With its finely designed case and vintage styled dial with concave edge, this classic beauty has an elegant presence. As a mens midsize it is well-suited for someone who does not have a large wrist.

The quality of Longines movements are often underappreciated - its high grade 22L is very well-made and finished wonderfully for a watch at this price level.

It has all of its original parts down to the original hands and crown.

It presents very nicely. Its sculpted solid 14K gold case presents very nicely. The back has light remnants of wear and signs of previous polishing. On the wrist, it presents as just short of mint on the wrist. Its dial was restored in vintage times and is still clean.

One of our Master Watchmakers, who used to be the watchmaker for an authorized Rolex dealer and was given special training by Rolex at their Beverly Hills Service Center to be an authorized Rolex watchmaker, has fully serviced the watch which consists of fully disassembling the movement, carefully inspecting each part, installing a new mainspring and a mineral glass crystal like the original so the indices can be best seen, reassembling and lubricating the movement, and extensive timing testing and regulation (a $595 value).

It is running very strong and true, keeping time essentially on par with a new Longines in our testing recording position.

For the finishing touch, we have installed a brand new Italian calfskin strap and aftermarket Longines style buckle making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
