Longines

Item No. 5956

At the intersection of Art and Timekeeping reside some of the most beautiful creations to come out of the fine Swiss watchmaking firms.

To captivate their clientele in vintage times, Longines offered an object d'art called the mystery dial targeted at the U.S. market. The watches were named after the way the hour marker seemed to mysteriously float around dial, unattached to the rest of the watch, yet keeping perfect time.

We are proud to offer today this uncommon and desirable Thunderbolt dial Mystérieuse with these qualities:

  • Mystery dial featuring an 'invisible' revolving disk equipped with a white gold and diamond hour markers, appearing to float around the dial as the watch registers the time
  • Distinctive and uncommon thunderbolt dial markers
  • Elegant solid 14K white gold case with one-piece design to better protect the movement
  • Very high-quality Longines movement, showcasing top tier Swiss craftsmanship from the era

We were fortunate to acquire it in beautiful original condition, original down to the dial and hands. The only replacement part is the winding crown which is Longines-Wittnauer and signed with the Wittnauer logo. Longines and Wittnauer were partners in the U.S. and shared an after sales servicing network under the name Longines-Wittanuer. See our photo for a sampling of Longines/Wittnauer shared winding crowns.

Our watchmaker has freshly cleaned and oiled it, and it is For the finishing touch it has been equipped it with leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment. If you would like a different color strap, please inquire.
