Created in 1967 by Omega's sales director Robert Forster, the Dynamic is a wonderful example of a true "Space Age" retro style. The clean and functional watch, a considerable success for Omega, pushed the boundaries of functionality and design with some features that really made it stand out:
- An ellipse shape with recessed crown determined to be the best geometric shape for the wrist, determined after extensive study
- Easy to read dial with "time zone" sections
- Unicoc case with hermetically sealed crystal water-resistant to a depth of 30m.
- Available with a stainless steel bracelet or easily interchangeable water-resistant Cor-fam straps
According to an Omega advertisement at the time, "The shape of the Omega Dynamic was determined by the anatomy of your wrist; its dial by the workings of your eyes; it strap by the physiology of your skin."
Today's offering showcases this first generation Dynamic. The first generation of the watch lasted from 1968 until 1970.
It is fully original down to the hands and crown, and buckle and in very pleasing condition. It has a new aftermarket strap designed to replicate the look of the original.
Its cool silver racing style dial is in honest original condition. Our watchmaker has freshly cleaned and oiled the 750 series Omega movement.
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function and a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity.
Our friend Desmond Guilfolye has a great write up on Dynamics that
can be found here.
Please note: An example of this watch resides in the Omega museum, and a published example can be found in Marco Richon's work Omega: A Journey Through Time, 2007, pg. 483.
