Today's offering showcases this very cool and pleasing Omega Seamaster from circa 1961.
It has a classic Seamaster case design embossed with the Seamonster logo and a strong black dial. Its monocoque - or one-piece case - originally provided a significant degree of water resistance.
Powering the watch is Omega's top-tier caliber 562 movement used in Seamasters from the era, and one of the last superior 500's series movements used before Omega began trying to reduce their costs. It has 24 jewels and a quick-setting date and is one of the finest mass-produced automatic movements from era.
It measures 34mm in diameter, the size of a Rolex Date.
It is 100% Omega down to the dial, hands, winding crown, and even the signed Omega crystal!
It has just finished a true expertly done restoration. Its case presents as mint condition. The dial has been meticulously restored and presents as mint - the printing could pass as Omega factory done to the naked eye.
Note that the shadow from the camera is covering the polished steel applied Omega logo on the dial in the photos. Please view the one photo shot at a distance and angle to see how it appears in person.
It has just been fully overhauled by a Master Watchmaker - it is very clean. It is keeping accurate time. Photos of the inside available upon request.
1960's Seamasters are great buys as parts are readily available for their well-made movements, and they're not hard to service.
For the finishing touch it has been equipped with a brand new leather strap making it ready for immediate enjoyment
Included with the purchase is a one-year C.O.T. warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
A more than half-century old Omega restored to look like new on the wrist.
